About This Project

The Imperial Plaza penthouse reglazing represents a pinnacle in high-rise construction projects in Honolulu. This complex renovation required a helicopter-assisted heavy lift to hoist massive glazing units 400' to the penthouse roof, followed by an incredible display of industrial rope access by the glazing specialists. Critical Path Marketing (CPM) provided construction photography, drone videography, and aerial drone services to document every phase of this logistical feat. By capturing the high-stakes intersection of aviation and construction logistics, CPM provided the client with professional commercial photography and construction videography that defines their brand’s technical authority.

CPM tracked the glazing team as they utilized rock-climbing ascenders to work 400' above ground level. CPM's video services were then translated into a high-impact construction promotional video and a comprehensive client portfolio. This specialized construction videography doesn't just show a project; it serves as a high-value marketing asset that utilizes aerial drone services to showcase the capability and precision required for the most difficult high-rise glazing jobs in Hawaii. This combination of project photography and promotional videos ensures that CPM clients have the marketing power to influence the commercial AEC sector.

Indsutry Recognition & Selection Committee Influence | The resulting construction project photography became a cornerstone of the client's marketing strategy, leading to a featured spread in Hawaii Building Management magazine. By showcasing their ability to handle extreme working conditions and complex aerial logistics, Bucher Glass provided Hawaii general contractors and developers with undeniable proof of their elite capability. These assets are now utilized to prove they are the most technically advanced and capable firm for the Pacific's highest-risk construction projects.

Challenges

Time, Space, and Technical Adaptation | The primary challenge of this project was the extreme logistical and spatial constraints of a high-altitude urban lift. The glazing specialists had to coordinate a helicopter heavy-lift with Paradise Helicopters to transport glass to the roof, requiring a zero-room-for-error approach. With the helicopter operating just feet from the building envelope, maintaining strict separation between the heavy-lift path and Critical Path's documentation assets was critical to site safety.

Furthermore, the project served as a proving ground for the contractor's ability to adapt to new equipment. The mission relied on the successful integration of a specialized Davit crane system and ActSafe ACX Power Ascenders. This wasn't standard construction; it required the crew to pivot from traditional methods to a high-angle, rope-access strategy. Documenting this transition was essential to show that Bucher Glass doesn't just follow industry standards—they set them.
