Flying Forklift

The Flying Forklift is a remote-controlled, counterbalanced system designed to set glazing units under deep slab overhangs where a vertical crane line is obstructed. During the Lilia Waikiki project, CPM documented the precision implementation of this hardware to transition massive glass panels horizontally into the building envelope.

Urban Superiority

This construction project was located in the heart of Waikiki in an ultra-high-density urban corridor. The construction team had to navigate the flying forklift between palm trees, light poles, and fence lines with workers having to account for active flowing traffic. It proves that a contractor has moved beyond standard lifting methods and invested in the hardware required to navigate zero-clearance sites.

By visualizing this gear, CPM helps categorize your company as an elite partner that can solve a unique problem that forces other firms to stall. CPM transforms this equipment from a rental item into a visual proof-point of your firm’s technological edge and enhanced engineering capability.

Unified Execution

Setting a thousand-pound glass panel under a concrete slab requires a disciplined sequence of logistics. It demands perfect interoperability between the tower crane operator, the remote-control operator, and the ground crew. This mission requires the team to function as a single unit, managing the load and horizontal travel of the glass with precision.

Documenting this synergy provides a level of operational transparency that proves a contractor’s reliability. When a general contractor or developer sees a construction crew working in total unison, it builds trust. It demonstrates that the company is not just a collection of labor, but a highly coordinated construction asset. A team that communicates and executes in sync is a team that minimizes site incidents, maximizes efficiency, and reduces liability. CPM's documentation captures this site discipline, proving to stakeholders that your firm is the most trustworthy choice for complex, multi-layered logistics.

Schedule Certainty via Specialized Access

At Lilia Waikiki, the flying forklift equipment was the critical tool. Without this specialized construction solution, the project schedule would have stalled. By deploying the Flying Forklift, the contractor effectively enabled a continuous, rapid installation pace despite the building's difficult geometry. In the boardroom, the biggest fear is a construction project that grinds to a halt.

CPM's documentation helps prove that your firm is the catalyst that keeps the schedule moving. It reduces the perceived liability for the developer and demonstrates that hiring your firm is a schedule insurance policy.
