The resulting promotional video became a cornerstone of the client's construction marketing strategy, leading to a featured spread in Hawaii Building Management magazine as well as a recruitment tool. By showcasing their ability to handle extreme working conditions and complex aerial logistics, the contractor provided general contractors and developers with undeniable proof of their elite capability.
Challenges
Documenting this required aviation deconfliction with the commercial helicopter agency, Paradise Helicopters. CPM worked directly with the helicopter pilot to ensure strict spatial separation, managing the airspace to capture 4K drone cinematography without interfering with the heavy-lift flight path. Capturing the construction operations in action was done by combining aerial drone videos with POV-mounted action cameras mounted on the installers' helmets.
About The Video
The Imperial Plaza is a 400' high-rise mixed-use residential building in Honolulu requiring complex building envelope remediation at the penthouse level. CPM was brought on to produce a high-impact promotional video that captured the extreme nature of this project. The mission was to memorialize a high-stakes logistics operation: utilizing a helicopter to lift massive glazing units to the roof and documenting the specialized glazing team as they installed glass while suspended 400' above the ground.
